Bwindi Impenetrable National Park hosts half of the world’s surviving mountain gorillas. Bwindi is covered by a diverse rain forest, which is home to 120 mammals, with a record of 350 bird species. The Park is divided into four sectors – Buhoma, Nkuringo, Ruhijja and Rushaga.

The journey to Bwindi typically begins at 3:00 am with a drive northward through the Katuna border point, which passes through Kabale town in Uganda, to the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be picked up from your residence in the morning to depart Kigali for the budget Gorilla trekking to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey from Kigali to Bwindi is approximately 4 hours. You will cross the borders of Katuna or Cyanika, and arriving at the park headquarters in Bwindi for briefing and guidelines or regulations to follow while in the jungle.
After briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 or less (depending on the season) to go in the bush to look for mountain gorillas. Depending on where these endangered animals are, this could take you several hours. Upon meeting the mountain Gorillas, only one hour will be offered for interaction. You will be able to take photos, see the animals feed and play. You will then walk back to the park's headquarters, to meet your driver guide. You will have lunch and thereafter, head back to Kigali which marks the end of your Safari.
